Add a piece of  American history as your fireplace mantel, and charm to your room, with one of these hand- hewn beams.   Enjoy your 1800's mantel for years to come, and at the same time help save our environment.   Customize your mantel by choosing a beam that will fill your needs and add a  carving of your choice to fit your personal style.

These old barn beams are becoming more and more rare and difficult to find.  For instance, the American Chestnut tree is now extinct, but we offer mantels of this wood.  All of our antique mantels display character and history that you simply can't find in new lumber.

Some of the mantels that we offer we have traced back to the early 1800's.  After 1890 very few beams were hand- hewn, as saw mills powered by water wheels or steam engines entered the scene.  Most of these beams are from virgin timber and are the tight grain, old-growth wood.
